Where is Spring?

I thought Spring was going to arrive early to year. Last week 60 degrees and this week ugly weather again (sleet, rain and tonight snow). I want to get outside in the sunshine and look what my garden needs for this year to look beautiful again. I want the colors and smell of spring.

I am working on projects for a Spring Show my friend and I put on each year. This is one of four shows we do a year. We invite some of our friends to put their things they make in our show as well. Everything in this show must be handmade and people around here really appreciate that since nowdays when you go to craft shows there seems to be alot of imported items. People would rather spend money for handmade which is better made and will last longer than anything imported.

CHRISTMAS
I am searching for some vintage Christmas items to add to my collection.

Fact about Christmas........The man who set December 25 as the date of Christ's birth was Pope Julius. The time he set it: 340 A.D.

The snow storm that hit the east coast missed us and we got only three inches (if that) of snow. So we are lucky!!!!

I have some vintage ornaments that I put on my tree each year and I wanted to share a few of them with you...especially my favorites because they are so unique. The whole tree is decorated with vintage ornaments and this is just a few of them. Enjoy

Until next time........

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!

Christmas is over and a New Year has begun. Things around here has been so hectic during the holiday season with activities at the schools and family events. It was hard to find the time to post to my blogs, but I am going to make an effort every week to post to my blogs. So come back each week and check out what I have to write.

Here's are a few facts I have found in an old, old magazine:

In 1644, the observance of Christmas in England was forbidden by an act of Parliament. Under Oliver Crowmwell's regime.

The Pennsylvania Dutch name for Santa Claus is----Pelznickel

Until next posting.....take care
